ELU – BRIEF FACTS
ELU is one of Sweden’s leading structural, civil and geotechnical engineering consulting companies. ELU has 50 years’ experience, over 200 employees and offices in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö.
Civil engineering
Designs fixed and openable bridges, tunnels, deckings, quays, locks, fish ladders, port facilities, water towers, breakwaters, ferry berths, temporary structures and erosion protection.
Structural engineering
Designing most types of buildings with the emphasis on offices, residential, administrative buildings and commercial premises.
Geotechnical engineering
Designing complex retaining structures, pile foundations and soil reinforcements. Assignments include the entire building process – from geotechnical site investigations, analysis, design, execution control and active design during construction.
Maritime Engineering
Provides design solutions and invesigations for different types of maritime engineering projects such as quays, locks, mooring posts, harbour facilities, berths, fenders, piers, jetties, scour protection and fish ways. We further perform facility condition assessments, life cycle assessments, inspections and cost estimations.
Technological development
ELU participates in standardization committees, research and development projects. We have an adjunct professor in bridge engineering at KTH (the Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm), and have close collaboration with both colleges and leading building contractors. This gives us an unique practical experience. ELU has an leading position in BIM/VDC and actively works to reduce the impact of concrete and steel on the climate.
